I wonder if these months of children doing their learning online might change education. I was watching and helping my kids yesterday, and it was a fundamentally different experience to what school is. More personalised learning, more agency for the student in the learning etc. Current online learning tools like Google Classroom are mostly just organising software, without any pedagogy built in, but the experience is still very different. One of my research areas has been looking at why education is the last area to embrace technology in sophisticated ways, maybe this pandemic will help change that.
