By any measure, a magnificent photo. From the 1930s, Ray Olson, one of my heroes, a press photographer at the time who captured vast amounts of public life. Cameras are so good now that I find a lot of stuff published online as great photography pretty boring actually, it's high res but lacking composition and thought. (David Brazil a notable exception.) There's something visceral about black and white too, photography is really an art of light, and so black and white photography I find closer to the essence of photography. Chiaroscuro.
