Another reality filter to try. Dump all the Left and Right and other explanations for society, and look at society as a set of ideas that clash or harmonise. Like this girl in an exam, society sometimes can’t resolve its current ideas. So it seems broken. And we focus on the people speaking the ideas, and not the ideas, time and again. Ideas use us, they enslave us, and I don’t mean that as a metaphor. Until clashes of ideas are resolved, society is this girl writ large.
