We passed the projections for 2 degrees of warming this week. That’s the entire atmosphere heating by 2 degrees, phenomenal amounts of heat. 1.5 was the target to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, so we’re now in deep trouble. Only the YouTube wallies think otherwise, and I use the word think ironically. To give a sense of the scale of the pollution we’ve spewed into the atmosphere: the enormous bushfires here in 2019? The world has been putting 100 times that amount of carbon pollution into the atmosphere, every year, for the past 270 years.
