I’ve carried a backpack most of my life. It’s only this year I realised I’ve been doing it all wrong, I should have been carrying it on my front, not my back. Like you’d carry a baby. What it does to your biomechanics is amazing, your body instantly and effortlessly straightens, and the backpack loses all sense of weight. I carry it over one shoulder on the front, not two, for better freedom of movement. I think we’re damaging people from an early age, loading up their shoulders with big weights hanging down their backs. Paradoxically this makes them slump forward later in life, as you can see in the pic their body gets so used to counter-balancing forward that it becomes a habit.
