What if ‘big pictures’ don’t actually exist? Of real interest to me, because of the assumptions in play, that there are specific things in our lives, and separate ‘big picture’ things. I could take a photo of my front yard, and put it next to a map of the whole town. Is the second one a ‘big’ picture? Nope, it’s just another picture. It highlights different details, that’s all. It actually has LESS detail than the photo of my front yard. I think this applies to any topic. Each person isn’t some tiny view of the ‘whole’. Each person has a view of everything - life, the universe - that shapes everything they think, feel and do. Once we understand that I think many of societies’ problems take on an entirely different meaning.
