Facebook told us the outcome of the election in another way. Comparing ourselves to others is the fuel of society. Labor’s justice-based campaign couldn’t match the ‘aspiration’ campaign from the LNP. People don’t want to bring privilege (society’s ‘cool’) down a peg, they want to be cooler themselves. FB could have told us this, because again what fuels it is comparison - here I am doing X, look at me.
