It’s been maybe 70 years since we had to face up to the complete disruption and even destruction of our societies. The last world war. What we’re experiencing now, they experienced then. Nobody knew if they’d live or die, goods had to be rationed, there wasn’t a clear way forward etc. I feel that recognising we’re back there now actually gives a bit of comfort. We should remember that disruption will become the norm, and be ready for it.
