I'm sure I sound like The Grinch sometimes. But this teddy bears in windows thing. Doesn't it just encourage people to leave their homes and wander through the neighbourhood, in large numbers? Spotted last night locally - a crowd of about 30 people checking out the teddy bears. A rule of thumb that works for me - if it's a mass display of emotion, it's usually not a good idea.
