We should thank Australian universities for this, they assembled over 100 experts from diverse fields to assess where Australia should go from here with Covid-19. You'll see they suggest either elimination (my preference, and theirs), or controlled adaptation (what governments have chosen). With the pros and cons of each strategy. A much wider set of expertise than the largely medical group currently advising government. Elimination would need about another month of what we're doing now, which is why it frustrates me that we're bailing out now and going for earlier relaxation of restrictions. I think the pollies are out of step here, polls show a majority of Australians would prefer to hold restrictions until the end of May. Like they want strong action on climate change. In both cases defeated by a government fascinated with the economy, which doesn't exist. And sadly, I suspect ScoMo wants to differentiate himself from Jacinda Ardern; it's as petty as that. https://go8.edu.au/research/roadmap-to-recovery
