It’s a measure of the power of social media trending BS that pretty much everybody assumes interpersonal relationships between people, and particularly between the sexes, have become dramatically more violent in our time. That we have a ‘crisis’. (Everything is a crisis on social media, it’s the business model.) The data tells us we have that exactly backwards. And this is WITH increased levels of reporting of violence. The thing obstructing this brilliant decades-long trend IS social media, re-activating rivalry and violence between people.
