Listening to conservative politicians speak with 'great concern' about children losing education in the pandemic is vomit-inducing. Like they care about children's education, they never have, they spend non-pandemic time cutting funding to public schools and have presided over a continuing decline in student outcomes. They want kids back at school so parents can be back at work. The Economy, always the Economy. At the same time the UK government has said it no longer worries about the degree of infection spread, because the people most likely to be in hospital are now vaccinated. Exactly as predicted, and the same pressure will come here. Vaccinate 'high risk' groups, then open everything up to get the Economy going again. If you think that's OK, you haven't paid attention to anything about this virus for the past 12 months.
