If there is a meaning to life, it’s pretty simple I think. Raise the next generation. If you don’t have kids, do everything you can to help society raise them. No civilisation that makes raising the next generation a low priority ever survives. We infect the tiny number of kids we have with lethal viruses and say it’s good for them, and refuse to fund education, which we see as childcare so we can all work to pay off astronomical debts and go on annual OS trips. We make basics of life like housing unaffordable to them. Raising the next generation also completes your development as an adult, you learn as much if not more than the kids do, by doing it. It teaches you humility and service and duty, amongst so many other things that are now in critically short supply. We have nations of kiddults living an extended adolescence instead, always bored and looking for new stimulation and distraction.
