21 of the 30 hottest days on record on Earth happened in July this year. The other 9 have happened since 2016. We’ve reached a tipping point with climate change, things are accelerating so much faster than even the most pessimistic experts expected. Terrible times ahead, the collapse of so much of what we’ve come to think of as normal life. Prepare your own home in any way you can to be a refuge for the heat. But the impact will go way beyond that, to the supply of food and water, disruption of power and transport systems etc. Our systems operate with pretty low tolerances, trimmed away by decades of privatisation. Climate change will sweep those tolerances away.
