Both Proust and Tarde said people don’t fall out of love, they fall in love with somebody else. A desire is always overpowered by another new desire. You don’t stop liking vanilla ice cream, you start liking strawberry more. People still like free to air TV, but they like streaming more. Etc. Does it ring true? Does to me.
