Building things is hard. Building big complex things is almost impossible. Going to the moon was hard, vaccinating the world against smallpox was hard. Today we live in a culture that nitpicks everything into a smoking pile of grievance, it's nearly impossible to get major things done. Look at every attempt to build new public infrastructure today, how the social media-driven mob descends upon it. Like crows on a carcass, inventing new hurdles every day and demanding utopian perfection immediately.
