There were 131 local objections to the Glanmire solar farm. Only 6 letters of support. It was approved by the State Government. If that seems strange, objections included: - risk of fire (?!) - noise (?!) - impact on the view from Mount Panorama, 10 km away (?!) - glare for planes into Bathurst airport (?!) Another trick local protestors are now using for renewable energy farms is to lodge fake planning approval for homes they never intend to build, nearby. This causes huge delays in planning processes. Thankfully it seems State governments have had enough.
