It’s apparently hateful to make the obvious point that transgender is a social fad, just one more ‘trending’ thing passing for reality now in public life. Like yo-yos, or wankpanzer utes. In its entirety it‘s an identity-based movement, but where the identity has no link back to reality, only to mobilised numbers in online social groups. With no cohesive set of ideas underlying it. About identifying which ‘team’ people are on, in the social melee, ‘oh you’re a transphobe’, etc. No thought, just joining a team and ‘support’ for others on the team, and contempt for those identified as being on other teams. Others do the same thing with ‘Left’ and ‘Right’. All team sports, status games that don’t correspond with anything real except maintenance of the teams. You can not be on any team in this fad/trend. I’m not for OR against trans. I think it doesn’t exist. Like ‘the people’ in democracy. The data is in. The trend is in free fall. The social group that led it remains, but it’s not convincing any new members amongst the young now. They’ve moved on to other trends, other reality-free identities. Other positions in the eternal status games that define who we individually are, as social animals.
