I’m not sure Australians know that Chinese cars now outsell Korean cars from Hyundai and Korea here. BYD’s sales have jumped sixfold in just a year, for example. Meanwhile the US and Europe do what they’ve always done, protect their fossil fuel-dominated economies, including their car industries, by putting massive tariffs on Chinese EVs. Hilarious. Fossil fuels have received trillions in subsidies for decades, enormous government cash handouts. This is that industry still at work, running its puppets in government. Thankfully we don’t have a car industry, so hopefully we don’t impose the same tariffs and keep getting superb EVs at unbelievable prices.
