The US is famous for having a national 55 mph (about 88 km/h) speed limit on its roads. That limit now varies across the country, controlled by States. The history of the 55 mph limit has echoes for us today. Richard Nixon introduced it to try to curb fuel use, during the first oil crisis in the early 1970s. Slowing vehicles down is already one suggested strategy to deal with our current energy problems. Good luck with that. A kidult behind the wheel is the most aggressive and selfish variety of human ever invented.
