If you look at something like FB, notice that in libertarian societies like ours, a ‘public’ act is thought to be sharing of information and pictures about ourselves. Society as a stage for individual performance. Going back to an earlier post, I think this is because school culture has turned societies into millions of permanent adolescents. Adolescents are obsessed with how they appear to others, with presenting themselves to the group. They hate rules.
