Do you agree with this? I don't, I think it's the disease that has infected Anglo countries in particular, in the last 50 years. The current LNP believes in this crap - listen to how often they talk of tax 'relief' and 'freedom from government interference'. The government IS the people. It amazes me this individual freedom versus government argument has any legs at all. There are countries in the world that have only minimal government, I can guarantee you don't want to live there. People invented governments to give them MORE freedom to do other things.
