In many parts of Asia various measures to ration fuel have already begun. That’s because Asia is mostly still run by grown-ups, also why they took Covid much more seriously. Nothing in the West yet because the kidults in social media culture would go apeshit. We don’t understand our own culture, permanent adolescence. Any collective action is seen as oppression, like a teen being grounded. All social life becomes preening and posturing to try to curate an identity amidst the schoolyard chaos. That’s what the countercultural revolution was, our revolution. Teens took over.
