Listeria is mostly mild, often asymptomatic. It tends to kill only ‘the vulnerable’, and can even be cured by antibiotics if diagnosed. And yet it’s an excellent measure of how corrupted our Covid response is, because do they let listeria run loose in the community? Of course not, it’s a public health alert. We have stricter requirements for food preparation for a disease like this, than we do for a disease that killed more Australians last year than have died from any other event since WW2.
