Bill Shorten has been playing the long game. Now he's made inequality the central plank of his platform, which is both brave and the only thing any politician should be doing right now, it doesn't matter if you don't like Labor, if your preferred party or candidate isn't targeting inequality, ditch them. It's what caused Trump and Brexit, and the US and U.K. couldn't target inequality in time to prevent those. Here's our chance to do better. Every time there are massive wars, look for inequality. Or social unrest, look for inequality. Or terrorism - look for inequality. Or schools or hospitals or roads failing - look for inequality. Once things get out of balance, things turn nasty and don't correct until you have balance back. Put the rubbish about Left and Right aside and focus on balance. The world is doing ok, the only major problem we have is inequality, all the other problems we see are just symptoms of this one big problem.
