Pathetic, as pathetic as our attempt to use the 'market' to create affordable homes. The market doesn't exist, it's code for 'letting everybody do whatever they like'. And what does that produce? People copying each other in imitative rivalry, for social status. Wankpanzer utes, homes used as casino chips. The sale of all new and even secondhand petrol and diesel vehicles should be banned within 5 years. We have no car industry to protect. We won't do that because peoples' kidult identities are too tied up in what vehicle they drive. People hate being told our culture is kidult - well, here it is. In the face of a far superior technology, and in response to a catastrophic threat to the extinction of human civilisation itself, what do humans do? Buy vehicles they think make them 'cool'.
