More on hypnosis. People doing the chicken dance. If people get up on a stage and are asked to act like chickens by a hypnotist, they're said to be in a 'trance'. These people aren't in a trance, and they're acting like chickens. Hypnosis is real, but it isn't a trance or other special state. It's just sophisticated persuasion. I think we're all 'hypnotised' in different ways every single day; for some it's seeing the 'Left' or 'Right' at work, for others it's plastic bags, or science, or memes.
