Beginning another year of work today. As colleagues collapse with increasing chronic disease around me, and ask why I still take Covid precautions like vaccination and masking. Because rich cultures are cultures of teenagers now, they equate being over something, with that thing being over. They were ‘over’ Covid, bored with it, so they just defined it as over. No longer ‘trending’. It isn’t over. It’s getting worse. People ask me how long I’ll continue to take precautions. Simple answer - for as long as we’re in a pandemic. It was never over, far more people died after we declared it over than died before we did that. I’m sorry that people trust modern politicians to look after their health. It’s beyond me why you’d trust them with anything at all, let alone your health.
