Already seeing in my own daily social groups the modern delight of ‘calm-mongering’. The people or paid talking heads whose job it is to take a critical situation and tell everybody to calm down, ‘nothing to see here’. And to then paint those trying to do something about it as somehow mentally defective, perhaps with ‘mental health’ problems. Have no doubt they’ll be the first to mow you down when the hammer falls, to save their own skin. It’s like a pathetic bravado in the face of their own prolonged stupidity, against quite obvious and avoidable threats. You can smell the fear in them, the deep terror that they may be about to be hit by the freight train they’ve always denied was coming down the tracks. This is, again, the kidult social media culture we live in. There are always two opposing options, two social teams slugging it out. In this case, apparently you can only choose to be absolutely hysterical, or totally calm and denying anything needs doing at all. Nothing is connected to reality in any way, it’s State of Origin team sports, for everything. Pick Door 3, folks. Use knowledge to guide your life. Leave the kidults to their sandpit play.
