Scott Morrison is trying his new slogan - the 'pink batteries', obviously referring to the pink batts scheme. I wonder how widely known it is that the home insulation installed under the stimulus program of Rudd and Garrett was dramatically safer than the usual practice? The stimulus scheme installed insulation in 1.1 million homes. There were 94 reported fires. But before the stimulus, there were on average 70,000 installations per year, with fires in an average of 85 of these. 1,100,000 installations - 94 fires. 70,000 installations - 85 fires. You don't need to be great at maths to smell the spin.
