R.I.P. Robert Hughes. A huge loss.
Is it stupid to ask why they can't make hockey sticks longer, so the players don't have to hunch over the whole time?

So if a blonde moment is doing something stupid, what do you call doing something smart? (I vote for "a bald moment".)
So when Jug Ears parrots on about my electricity bill, beyond my usual first reaction to tell him to fuck off, I remember that in 2008 the average cost was about 15 cents per kWh. Now it's between 25 and 30 cents per kWh. Didn't have a carbon tax between then and now - it adds about 1-2 cents to the cost. Which is also being refunded to me. Which leaves me with the logical conclusion that, as always, Jug Ears is a fucking moron.
LOL: ''Things are different now in Queensland,'' says a Newman aide firmly. ''We want people out there doing things, not sitting around thinking.''
Watching TKD at the olympics. Martial arts looks a lot more impressive when one of the people doesn't know them, like in movies, so the person who does flattens some redneck with spin kicks. When the other person knows the martial art most of the time it looks like a combination of two kids in a stalemate wrestle in their dressing gowns, and two guys who can't dance.
Far out, the London Olympics cost $15 billion. Great show, but that's dosh they seriously didn't have. Glad they got all those gold medals now, they might have to melt them down.
Hmmm, new Jaguar, $195,000 drive away. That's a relief, wouldn't want it to become an expensive car with extra dealer charges.

Do people really 'like' all of these business clogging up the news feed with bloody ads?
Watching Breivik do his smirking Nazi-type salute today reminded me of this from a while back. Amazing who jumps in for the ride when you whistle that dog... http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/john-howard-george-pell-cited-in-breivik-diatribe/story-e6frg6so-1226101697828

"Within our few seconds of existence, between the abysses of nothingness, we can speak a song which rings beyond existence, with the power of magic speech, and which can make even the Gods, in their interworlds, feel a nostalgia for existence, and the desire to come down here to be by our sides, as our companions and our guides." (Etienne Souriau) Not a bad way to look at life.
